Welcome to the website of the Research Institute on National Security Affairs (RINSA) of the Korea National Defense University. RINSA was founded in 1972 as the first national security research institute in the Republic of Korea.
Since 1972, RINSA has provided practical, innovative, and visionary policy advice and reports to relevant government agencies, in particular, the Ministry of National Defense, its components, and the National Security Council, in order to help them achieve national security and defense goals. RINSA is composed of six research divisions: national security strategy, international affairs, military affairs, North Korean affairs, multilateral security, defense science and information, and defense resources management. We have maintained our competitive edge in research and policy deliberation by facilitating interdisciplinary participation from a wide range of faculty members with multiple disciplines of sciences, by promoting open dialogue between researchers and relevant policy makers, and by searching for policy options to the newly rising policy issues in a timely manner.
Our recent research interests lie in helping Korea to improve its security alliance with the United States, to promote multilateral security cooperation in Northeast Asia, to reach a national consensus on Korea's security and defense policy, to provide policy guidelines to build confidence and a peace regime on the Korean Peninsula, to promote international research exchanges and cooperation with world-renowned Think-tanks, etc.
Our publications are the Korea Journal of Security Affairs (English: new title of the Korea National Defense University Review), the Journal of National Defense Studies (Korean), quarterly u-Security Review (English), u-Security Review(Korean), occasional English papers, Conference proceedings, Annual Strategic Assessments, Research Reports on Current Security Issues. We are open to any suggestions to improve our website and research qualities. Please feel free to utilize this website. |
